Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to Matthew chapter 27.

You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions"

Matthew 26:26-29 - While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” 27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; 28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

Honest Questions:

1. When you read the story of Christ's crucifixion do you picture Him being older or younger than you?

2. If you were to lose your life unexpectedly at some point in the near future, do you think you will have lived life well?

3. If you knew that you were going to pass away sometime soon, what are some things that you would like to put in order before you go? What prevents you from addressing those issues today?

4. Why do you think Matthew chose to document the fact that the temple curtain was torn in two "from top to bottom?"

5. Does this passage seem to indicate that the "holy people who had died" and "were raised to life" stayed in their tombs while Christ was in His tomb waiting for Christ's resurrection before they went into Jerusalem?

6. Do you think we should stop, think, and marvel at the details of the story Matthew is telling us here? Is it possible that we have become hard of hearing when it comes to the magnificent nature of the events that occurred when Christ died?

7. Would you be willing to read this chapter to someone this week and ask them to discuss the implications of it with you over coffee or something like that?

8. Would you be willing to call up some of your friends, read them this story, and ask them to join you in a time of worship and prayer? If so, would you be willing to come back here and tell us the story of how things go?

9. What was your favorite verse in Matthew 27 and why?

10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading Matthew 27?
