Galatians 3:6-9
Welcome to our Online Bible Study.
We are glad that you are here.
Today we are discussing:
Galatians 3:6-9 - Even so Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness. 7 Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham. 8 The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “All the nations will be blessed in you.” 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.
Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to this passage.
You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions"
Honest Questions:
1. Please, read all of Galatians 3 this morning! Is it possible that Galatians 3:10-14 are the most important scriptures in the Bible?
2. In addition to Galatians 3:10-14 what are some of your favorite verses in the Bible and why?
3. For the past few days, I have asked participants in this group to put the gospel in their own words. This morning the Apostle Paul did it for us! Look at Galatians 3:8: Is this the most concise declaration of the Gospel in scripture? If not, what is?
4. This story of Abraham believing God is a story of God revealing Himself to Abraham independently of Scripture. Do you believe that God still reveals Himself to people in this way? Why or why not?
5. Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing. Is hearing an activity we do actively or passively? Please, describe a time when you "heard" the word of Christ in a way that produced faith in you.
6. Check out verse 8. Is this saying that the Scripture preached the gospel to Abraham before God justified the Gentiles by faith? If so, what Scriptures could Abraham have listened to since according to our traditions the Torah was not written when Abraham was alive?
7. Is it necessary to read the Scriptures to have faith? If not, why do we read the Scriptures? If so, why don't we read them more?
8. Would you be willing to go live in this group today and tell us about a time when a certain scripture became one of your favorites?
9. What was your favorite verse in Galatians 3 and why?
10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading Galatians 3?
