Titus 1:13-16
Welcome to our online Bible study.
We are glad that you are here.
Today we are reading Titus 1.
As we read, these verses stood out to me:
Titus 1:13-16 - This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to this passage.
You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions"
Honest Questions:
1. Will you please take some time to pray for the leaders of the churches in your community this morning?
2. When Paul says, "there are many rebellious men... especially among the circumcision" what is he talking about and why should we care?
3. What do you think it means for a person to be an "empty talker and a deceiver." What should we do if when we meet one?
4. How often do you think people in our day pay attention to "Jewish myths" or the "commandments of men who turn away from the truth?" Can you give an example of a time when you were exposed to either of these philosophies?
5. Think about and respond to this phrase, "to the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure."
6. If all things are pure for those of us that are pure, why do we choose to avoid certain items or activities?
7. Would you please take some time to pray for my mind? I especially want to be more able to discern the difference between truth and lies. I also want to be able to list from memory a handful of essential Christian doctrines.
8. What is one way we could show the love of Christ to someone this week?
9. What was your favorite verse in Titus 1 and why?
