2 Corinthians 9:8-12
Today we are reading 2 Corinthians 9.
As we read, these verses stood out to me:
2 Corinthians 9:8-12 - And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; 9 as it is written, “He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.” 10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; 11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.

Honest Questions
1. Do you ever take the time to outline/diagram entire books of the Bible or read outlines produced by other readers? If so, please, tell us about it.
2. Would you enjoy participating in a discussion where readers met together to discuss our answers to these questions in a video conference?
3. When was the last time you invited someone to participate with you in a Bible study of some sort? How did it go? How long did the study last?
4. Respond to this statement, "2 Corinthians is a great guide to my statement, 'Passionate Spirituality is often found in the intersection where the needs of the community and your gifts meet."
5. Why does it matter whether or not "God is able to make all grace about to you"?
6. 2 Corinthians 9:9 quotes Psalm 112. Psalm 112 was originally celebrating the prosperity and generosity of righteous men generically. In 2 Corinthians 9, Paul is making a prophetic application of Psalm 112 to a specific righteous man, Jesus. Read Psalm 112 and tell us whether you think it should only be applied to Christ or if we should seek to apply these principles to ourselves as well.
7. Compare 2 Corinthians 9:9 to Ephesians 4:7-8 and to the overall message of 2 Corinthians up to this point. What correlations do you see?
8. Compare 2 Corinthians 9:11-12 to Matthew 5:16. I love seeing specific Biblical examples where the good works of people result in the glorification of God. What are some other examples you have found where the actions of people result in the glorification of Jesus instead of the people doing the work?
9. What is was your favorite verse in 2 Corinthians 9 and why?
10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading 2 Corinthians 9?
