Today we are reading 2 Corinthians 11.
As we read, these verses stood out to me:

2 Corinthians 11:6-9 - But even if I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not so in knowledge; in fact, in every way we have made this evident to you in all things. 7 Or did I commit a sin by humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you without charge? 8 I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you; 9 and when I was present with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone; for when the brothers came from Macedonia they fully supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will continue to do so.

Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to this passage.

You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions."

Honest Questions

1. In what ways do the critical voices in your head tell you that you are not qualified to do the thing that God is calling you to do?

2. Has anyone other than you ever actually been criticized, persecuted, prevented, or discouraged you from doing the thing you feel called to do? If so, how did you respond?

3. What are some of the things you do best when it comes to representing Christ to your community?

4. What are some of the things that seem to get in the way of you accurately or consistently presenting Christ to your community?

5. Read 2 Corinthians 11:7-9 very slowly. What stands out most to you in those verses? Would you be able and/or willing to make a financial contribution to a preacher or maybe even a "lay leader" in your community in response to the insight Paul is sharing there?

6. How long have you been reading along with us here at School of the Word? Is what we are doing here valuable? Do you think I ask for financial support to often? If you could change anything about the way we ask for financial support what would it be?

7. If you are one of the people that support us financially, "Thank you!" I really appreciate the support you provide. Would you be willing to tell people why you have chosen to support the work we are doing here?

8. If you are one of the people that come here regularly and have chosen not to support us financially, I am so glad you are here. I hope what we do is a blessing for you, your family and the people in your sphere of influence. This service will continue to be free. I hope when I get to the end of my life I will be able to say, like the Apostle Paul did, "in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will continue to do so."

9. What is was your favorite verse in 2 Corinthians 11 and why?

10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading 2 Corinthians 11?
