Welcome to our online Bible Study.
We are glad that you are here.

Today we are reading 1 Timothy 4.
As we read, these verses stood out to me:

1 Timothy 4:11-15 - Prescribe and teach these things. 12 Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. 13 Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery. 15 Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all.

Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to this passage.

You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions"

Honest Questions:

1. What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you as it relates to your relationship with God? How old were you when they shared that advice with you?

2. Do you think of your self as too old to make a difference, to young to make a difference or just the right age to make a difference? Why do you think that?

3. Have you ever felt underqualified to do something God has asked you to do? If so, how did you respond to those feelings?

4. Is this passage saying "some people might look down on you because of your age but, people with understanding will look up to you because of your speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity if you discipline your self to make progress in these areas?"

5. Would you be willing to devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, and/or teaching? If so, what is a way we could hold ourselves accountable to do these things in this group?

6. Have you ever had the leadership team of your church lay their hands on you and pray? If so, when was the last time you requested that and how did it go?

7. Has anyone ever spoken a prophetic word over you/your life? Do you remember it? Would you be willing to tell us about the experience?

8. I lead this Bible study because I believe it is a spiritual gift God has given me. I try not to neglect this gift. I try to be absorbed in it and I hope the progress I am making is evident to everyone. In your opinion, what is one thing I could do to improve the quality of the service we are providing through School of the Word?

9. What was your favorite verse in 1 Timothy 4 and why?

10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading 1 Timothy 4?
