2 Thessalonians 3:4-6
Welcome to our Online Bible Study.
We are glad that you are here.
Today we are discussing:
2 Thessalonians 3:4-6 - We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. 6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us.
Please, take some time to Share Your Thoughts With Us as they relate to this passage.
You can share anything that is on your heart but, if you don't know where to start, try reading these verses and answering one or more of the following "Honest Questions"
Honest Questions:
1. Has the church you attend made an "official" or written statement regarding their view of Scripture? If so, would you mind sharing it with us?
2. Why do we say that we believe the Bible is the inerrant/infallible? Do we believe that? If so, why is it important?
3. How would you respond if your Pastor said, "I am commanding you all to live a certain way?"
4. 2 Thessalonians 2 mentioned certain traditions we should keep. 2 Thessalonians 3 specifically speaks about two of those traditions. What are some of the traditions your church or your family has passed down from generation to generation?
5. Who are some of the most influential people in your life? How did they get there and what are some of the greatest lessons they have taught you?
6. Would you say the Gospel is more about what God did for us or what we do in response to what God did for us? Why?
7. Do you think of your work as God's will for your life or something else? Please, explain, especially if you think of your work as something other than God's will for your life.
8. How does leading a disciplined life relate to 2 Thessalonians 3:5, "may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ?"
9. What was your favorite verse in 2 Thessalonians 3 and why?
10. Do you have any specific questions or prayer requests after reading 2 Thessalonians 3?
